Our Irish Penal Pocket Rosary is a very convenient and easy to carry straight line single decade rosary. It is fashioned like the Penal Rosaries used in Ireland prior to the 1700s when the church was being persecuted. It was easily hidden up a sleeve or in clothing.
To use this rosary, the ring is placed on the thumb and moved to each finger each time a decade of the rosary is prayed until completion of all 5 decades. The crucifix on this rosary is an Irish design full of symbolism on both the front and back such as the crown of thorns, the ladder used to remove Christ from the cross, the spear, the 5 wounds, and the chalice from the last supper.
By the way, a kind customer, Luigi, suggests that the bottom symbol represents the SPONGE that was soaked with soar wine hyssop and given to Our Lord Jesus, before he breathed his last

I am beyond impressed with both my Irish Penal Pocket Rosary and the wooden Single Decade Rosary Bracelet which I purchased for my wife. I recently purchased both due to my wife and I suffering a miscarriage as a way to draw us closer to the Blessed Mother and Her Divine Son. Having these has helped us tremendously in offering our grief up to Our Lord on the Cross. Once I got the hang of how to pray with the Irish Penal Pocket Rosary, I find myself being able to pray multiple rosaries throughout the day due to its ease and accessibility. I can either pray all five decades straight through as normal, or quicky take it out and pray one or two decades whenever I have a moment throughout the day. The rosary is both beautiful and extremely durable. I have four other living children and I myself am very rough with things, so I can attest to it's ability to take a beating while not stretching, fraying, or showing any signs of wear and tear. I was also pleasantly surprised that I am able to comfortably use it with larger hands as I was concerned at first it would be too small or the ring not fit my fingers. I am very happy with my rosary and will absolutely be buying more from Rugged Rosaries in the future!

I am an active walker and jogger. This rosary is perfect for outdoor prayer. The beads are large, the construction is solid, and the rosary is beautiful. Nice pocket rosary. Well made and easy to fit in pockets. Like the green beads. Some rosaries are fragile or can break easily. This one will not seem like it will have that problem.

Once your return is received and processed, we will send you an email to notify you that a refund has been applied to your credit card or original method of payment. Although we issue the refund immediately, it might take a few business days to appear on your credit card. Please note we cannot refund return shipping costs.
Only regular priced items may be refunded. Unfortunately, sale items cannot be refunded.
We are also happy to exchange rosaries in new condition within a reasonable amount of time. Please email us at support@ruggedrosaries.com if you wish to make an exchange. In your email, just tell us which rosary you would like instead. We can send you the new rosary, along with a prepaid return label to make it simple to return the original rosary.
If you purchased a similar product from another company such as a paracord rosary, or a WWI style combat rosary, and for whatever reason, you have a problem with it - We will take care of you! Maybe the other company doesn't have good customer service or maybe you bought a cheaper imported mass-produced copy (see about them here).
