How to Pray the Irish Penal Rosary

This small little chaplet can be used to keep count of the prayers of a full five-decade rosary, by looping the ring over a thumb and praying the first decade, then moving the ring to each finger in turn, praying one decade at each position.

Start at the Crucifix, and do the sign of the cross and say the Apostles Creed.

Next, at #1, Pray the Our Father

At #2, Say 3 Hail Marys and one Glory Be

At #3, Recall the first mystery, and pray the Our Father

At #4, Say 10 Hail Marys, followed by one Glory Be

Repeat #3 and #4 for the remaining 4 mysteries, moving the ring at #5 over to the next finger to keep track of the total of 5 decades.

At the end, #5, pray Hail Holy Queen, and any closing rosary prayer(s), and make the sign of the cross.
