The emblem of the order consists of a shield mounted upon a Formée cross. The Formée cross, with its arms expanding at the ends, is an artistic representation of the cross of Christ and the shield is a symbol of the ideals of medieval knighthood. On the shield is a mace with an anchor and a short sword crossed behind it. The mace is a symbol of authority while the anchor is the mariner's symbol for Columbus. The sword, like the shield it is mounted on, also symbolizes the chivalry and honor of the knights of yesteryear.

Husband loves it!

This was a Christmas gift for my husband who is notorious for breaking his Rosary. I figured this would be the perfect solution for him. It's much bigger than I thought it would be but you definitely know you are holding something sturdy. I got him the Knights of Columbus one as he is a Fourth Degree and Past Grand Knight of three councils and he also leads a weekly Rosary group at our parish so it will be getting a lot of use.
